yin versus yang
This is the North Penthouse and is part of a duo we like to refer to as yin and yang. The North and South Penthouses are neighboring projects with two identical floor plans but were designed into drastically different homes. Our clients wanted an open and airy feel with a contemporary aesthetic and ample wall space for their extensive art collection. We ran with that idea and omitted trim work altogether leaving the walls a blank canvas for art and sculpture. Now our clients boast that they have a serene and peaceful environment in the middle of downtown. If that wasn’t complimentary enough, they even say their home is a true work of art.
We’re not in the habit of comparing our clients, but this project is special; it’s half of a yin and yang story about two identical white boxes and how they evolved into starkly different homes. As the yin part of the story goes; our clients were downsizing but had a long list of wants to fit into the footprint. It was a challenge, but thanks to some strategic space planning, we not only checked off all their boxes but kept each room bright and spacious while providing ample storage. Even though this home is half the size of the one they moved from, they’re able to do more while having less to maintain.
Modern COlorado Home
"Vickie Brown is a designer who made my vision become a reality. My family and I were moving out of a french country home into a modern townhome. I needed affordable but chic modern pieces to fill my home but I also wanted it to blend with the several pieces I was bringing with me. In addition, I needed some rooms to be flexible places--working as an office by day, guest room at night. Vickie's keen design eye helped tie the pieces together creating my Colorado modern home. She is a thoughtful designer who will work for you; more importantly, she truly hears you."
"There is a magic in that little world, home; it is a mystic circle that surrounds comforts and virtues never known beyond its hallowed limits."
